Ask any radio presenter when it was they realised they wanted to work for a radio station and they'll probably tell you about the time, aged 4, that they made some humorous garglings on a Fisher Price cassette recorder in their bedroom. Some will even go as far as to say they recorded music in between these warblings and claim that radio became their destiny that day. Rubbish! Everyone had one of those tape recorders!
Tests show that I have a very high mechanical abilities, you see, so every careers meeting I had throughout school ended with them telling me that engineering was the way forward. I don't dispute that, as far as building bridges and electrical goods goes, but it wasn't for me. A few years later, I found this out first hand when I was forced to leave my Electronic Engineering course at The University of Surrey, due to not having done anything.
Since then, I've been found lurking on various frequencies around the UK, from County Town Radio to BBC Radio 1 (once!). You may even catch me lingering in a London McDonalds, wearing big headphones, gesticulating wildly and broadcasting shows through an ipod FM transmitter. Although it is more likely you'll hear me on KMFM Maidstone at the moment.
