I first came across Jolly Pong at the end of last year. Some friends and I were sorting through some rubbish when a bag of Jolly Pong fell out. The name instantly amazed us, unfortunately, being in the rubbish, the snack itself wasn’t given chance to. They looked like Sugar Puffs in a little bag, and me being an expert in the scripts of the east, reckoned they were Korean.

Still the name stuck and as time went on I began to think more and more of the tasty snack that could have eluded us. Whilst doing some research for another website this week, I came across jollypong.com (trust me, there was a relationship!) and the aptly composed tune that plays when you visit the site. Man, that’s a tune.

I dug a little deeper and found this amazing Jolly Pong advert too…

Jolly Pong! I absolutely want to go to Korea and try some now!

Just thought I’d give a quick heads up on an animation a friend of mine back in London has lovingly produced. Here it is…

Before you ask, I don’t know.

One frustrating thing I’ve noticed since arriving on Telecom Broadband is the provider’s tenacity when it comes to google.co.nz. For 99% of searches in New Zealand, I understand that this is cool.

But what if you want to research google overseas? google.co.uk, I’ve noticed, loads normally. So we can search the UK alright. But google.com doesn’t. It just auto forwards to google.co.nz, leaving your search results all New Zealandised. Sometimes not what we want!

Almost by accident, the other day I discovered how to access google.com from New Zealand. For Americanized google search results, simply use the URL www.google.com/webhp.
